Realization

The movement toward more transparency and information sharing could actually dilute the importance of expertise. If true, being an engaging and likable person with a decent reputation will become very important.

I think that's the point. Expert models are outdated, especially with so many people who know as much or more than purported experts. Put them all together, allow them to add their knowledge to the conversation, and you've got yourself a much better-informed world that is no longer dependent on a few experts, but that can figure stuff out on its own.
