Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 2008
Every year the family vacation takes place - mom, step-dad, and this year, family friends Ken and Becky Capular. With one exception, Cancun in 2005, we've been to Puerto Vallarta every year. It's become our home away from home. We have two family time-shares at the Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta which is 15 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta proper. It's a wonderful property. Family oriented, much to do, much to see and a marina connected to the property for sea voyages.
My 6 days consisted of eating, reading, relaxing, rocking the MexiGO play list on my iPhone (note to reader DO NOT, repeat DO NOT use data roaming while in Mexico) and hours of beach volleyball with a gaggle of Canadians on holiday. If fact, on the flight down, my mom chatted up a couple from Saskatchewan. We had dinner with them on night. Canadians are a peculiar crowd. They have such mild senses of humor, yet pretty witty. Anyway - good on ya, eh! Highlight of the dinner: Graham, the Canadian, had a hat with LED lights in the brim. Bad ass! Eh!
We also hooked up with some friends who moved down there a few years ago, intending on sailing to Fiji, they lost a battery on their sail boat in Mazatlan. They moored in Puerto Vallarta awaiting parts from Guadalajara. Parts are sloooooow on delivery. To make some money they started a charter service. To date, they have not left, charmed by the wonderful people, culture and lifestyle available in that enchanting port town. Joe and Lori took us for a cruise thru the bay up to La Cruz, Bucerias and finally back to Nuevo Vallarta. Last year I was introduced to SCUBA diving, this trip I have become smitten with sailing. I better ask for a raise.
Great trip, great food, great companions. If you are ever in the PV area, email Lori and Joe ahead of time and take a spin on the boat.

Clean Up Somone Else's Act
January 4, 2008 — 11:36 AM PST — by Kristen Nicole — Share This
There are very few people I know on Facebook that have more applications on their profiles than us here at Mashable, and our avid friends throughout the over-zealous tech blogging industry. So this new application I’m about to share with you will be far more useful to you than it will be for myself. It’s called the Clean Profile application (insert superhero entrant music here). It lets you view other users’ profiles without all the applications junking up the page.
So for those of you that would like to visit your friends’ profile pages and actually see the link for sending them a message, or their regular wall (not the super wall), Clean Profile is the app for you. Ironically, you’ll only be able to use it directly from a user’s profile if they’ve added the application. This means that a link will appear below their user photo, giving you the option of viewing their clean profile. If their profile looks anything like mine, good luck finding that link in the first place.
But don’t let this ironic twist of fate get you down. If you add the application, you can visit anyone’s clean profile if you access it through the application (as opposed to directly visiting your friend’s profile). So for all my friends that are planning on visiting my Facebook profile, you may wanna swing by Clean Profile first.
